Massage
Ok so this is a little weird. Last year for Pastor Appreciation day our Youth Group decided to get Mikal and I a gift certificate for a massage place here in town. I have never experienced any thing like this in my life. I’m not sure how I feel about paying someone to touch me for an hour. Is it just me or is the idea of stranger rubbing you for an hour a little over the top? I don’t know, I’m struggling with this concept in my head. However I gave my word that I would do it and my wife has chosen the day, so I’m locked in. Help me Jesus!!!!
What are any tips to be prepared for this? any advise?

Random Monday
Yesterday was by far the most random day I’ve experienced in a while. Let me set the day up by saying that my wife recently had knee surgery and is bed ridden. So I’ve been playing Mr. Mom this past weekend. I’m clearly not a very good parent either, it was brought to my attention that the boys did not get a bath all weekend. This brings us to Monday. Here’s the quick run down:
1. Riley wakes up in the 4am-ish time frame and cries about his mouth hurting.
2. I get into the office as I walk in the door the fire alarm goes off.
3. I sit down at my desk and start my video editing for the week and about 10 min. in the fire alarm goes off again. This time I almost pee my pants. I was so focused on editing that sudden loud noises like that lets you know your still alive.
4. I’m contacted by 2 students in Europe via skype who want to talk about the differences between Christianity and Catholicism.
5. Day care calls to come pick up the sick 3 yr. old.
6. 3yr. in my office the rest of the afternoon. We made this video to entertain him so I could finish my work.
7. We go to Doctor’s office to confirm a sore thort.
In all the unexpected interuptions I still managed to crank out a TV show and do most of what I need to. Oh the craziness that is Mondays. So what happend to you this Monday?

Little joys of life
I find it funny that people like to make fun of me for the little things I like and enjoy in life. Here’s a list of some things I’ve been made fun of in the last few days.
1. Chi tea latte- I found out that I love them and I make them for myself in the afternoon.
2. Candles – I like to have a candles burning in my office all the time. It just smells so nice.
3. Shopping – I love to shop. I shop for my wife, and yes I buy most of her shoes!
So all you haters out there just get over it. You know you like this stuff too!

Impressive
I just checked my blog stats… and to my surprise this week I had a 483% increase in traffic! Now if that’s not amazing I don’t know what is. Oh, but wait, yea, well… when you go from 1 or 2 hits a day to 8-10 hits it makes that 483% not as impressive?
Well it felt good for moment.

This Time Last Week
It’s amazing that another week has blown by. I was just thinking to myself that this time last week I was finishing up a camp/retreat with some awesome students from Cook Inlet Academy High School. I had such a great time hanging out and speaking to them. I learned from them, even though I was the speaker, I think they taught me more than I taught them. My favorite moment of the whole week was sitting around the camp fire the last night. Many of the students shared some of the things they had gone through in the last year or so, and how the staff and kids at that school had impacted their situation in a positive way. I realized how important it is to just be there. In most every case that the kids shared it wasn’t some great bible study or a wonderfully powerful prayer that helped them through their darkest moment. It was a person showing compassion with a hug or just simply listening and saying “your gonna make it, hang in there” that turned them around. It was an eye opening experience. I wish some of us “mature” Christians could grasp the art of just being there. Imagine if instead of trying to “witness” and “evangelize” we focused on being there with compassion for those who are hurting and in need, what a difference it would make. Anyway, here are some great shots from last week.

blah Mondays
Here’s an interesting observation. Almost all of my ministry friends that use twitter at some point today made an, “I hate Mondays” comment, this includes myself. I’m sure this isn’t specific to people in ministry, but to most people who breath air. Therefore, I think there should be some kind of Monday rule that says everything is delayed by 3 hours on Mondays only. Got to be at work by 8am, aha the Monday rule, sleep in work doesn’t start till 11. I know there are many flaws in this rule but hey we live in a flawed world anyway. So for all the Monday haters out there, I’m feeling your pain today.
Good Day
Today has been great! Got stuff done, ate Taco Bell for lunch, good staff meeting. But best of all… and I’m not ashamed to say it, Good Hair Day!

Good Hair Day

Iphone Post
Just got the wordpress app on my iPhone so I thought I’d give it a spin. Last weekend We went camping with our boys for the first time in our short history as family. Here is the 10 second breakdown of what happened.
1. We camped
2. It rained
3. We have a 3 yr. old
Those 3 things make for some interesting stories, like this one:
Riley our 3 yr old decided he was scared of the bathroom at the camp ground. No matter what we tried he would not even go into the bathroom. (In his defense it was kinda nasty) However after dinner the first night Riley had to poop. I took him to the bathroom and got no where. Mikal with her brilliant mommy skills tricked him into going into the bathroom but to no avail, he would not do the deed. So after about an hour we noticed Riley was suddenly very quiet. If you know any thing about 3 yr old’s you know that’s a bad thing. Upon investigation we discovered he had poop his pants. With no running water or showers anywhere to be found he got a camping makeshift sponge bath witch was no fun for anyone involved.
Here are some pics from this weekend:
