Love this time of year
I think it’s possible that Christmas is my favorite time year. It generally speaking finds most people in good moods and who doesn’t love Christmas parties? The season is kicked off with thanksgiving and it’s just an accepted thing that the next 40 some days will be filled with food and people. Love it! But I think other than the food, presents, decorations and all the other traditional Christmas stuff that goes on, this is by far the most creative time of the year. I think even the commercials on tv are better during the Christmas season. Everyone is trying to figure out how to stand out and not be forgotten durning a season of many distractions. Not only is this true in the corporate world, but it’s true of the church world as well. That’s why we do Christmas programs and have special music. It’s Christmas time and we need to bring something extra. I love what North Point church did this last week to bring the special sauce to their service…

I love what these guys did to help their church be creative this Christmas season! What creative ideas do you have to help your church do something awesome this year? Go get involved!!!

Life and Times
What a crazy time we live in. I find it interesting to see how life changes not only from year to year and day to day, but even from hour to hour. I’ve only been 30 for a week now and it’s settling in nicely. I’m not sure how it happened but I’ve had to shave more in this last week than it seemed like I did in the whole of last month. Ok now on to some real content. I’ve made the comment to myself to read through the whole bible in 90 days. Thanks to youversion reading plan. Go here to check it out. The last 2 days I’ve been in Exodus. I almost couldn’t believe what I was reading when it got to part were Moses was laying down the “rules” by witch they were to live by. As I looked at it from our “modern” mind set it seems impossible to live up to the standard that was set. I couldn’t help but be so thankful for grace. But as I thought about it more it brought up some questions about society. After reading the penalties for some what we would call crime, it’s no wonder people back then were not career criminals. So this makes me think, are we to soft today? I put a tweet (follow me) out there about this earlier this week and got some interesting feedback. In Moses day if you stole something and got caught red handed, you were stoned. One guy on twitter said he would attend a public stoning with his kids and tell them this is what happens if your noddy! Would we have a better country to live in if we went back to the rules of Moses day? Go read Exodus 21 & 22 it will take less than 5 mins. then comment about what you would keep and what you would change from Moses day. GO….

Most Read Post This Year
On the count down to “Blog Birthday” I thought I would recall the “best” of the year. So today I will repost the most read post from the past year. Here is my favorite quote from it,
Just like an ox dirties a stable, people cause messes in life. But if you get rid of the mess makers you limit your harvest.
You can read the rest of the post HERE.
Please don’t forget to comment on the “Blog Birthday” post HERE to be entered in the t-shirt drawing and some other random item that is yet to be determined.

Blog Birthday
When I logged into my account today I was meet with some interesting facts. Here they are:
April 29th is this blogs birthday! (cards with money accepted) I know this because wordpress wants more money.
In this year we have had over 1700 visitors and many comments.
I lack 7 posts from having 100 posts this year. Witch I plan on posting 7 times before the 29th just to reach the century mark. If I accomplish my goal of 100 posts in 365 days that will mean that over the course of this year every 3.65 days I made a blog post. (the math is correct I did it on a calculator)this news makes me feel really good because I thought I was a terrible blogger – post count wise. Turns out I don’t suck afterall. So for the 100th post I think I’ll give something away & possibly even make a tee shirt. If your reading and want to see a fun tee shirt created leave a comment and if we hit 29 comments by the 29th I’ll make and send 5 random commentors a free tee shirt. (don’t worry the shirt will be something I would wear) So check back every few days and leave your comments!!!

Good Times in Alaska!
So here is what this past weekend consisted of:

getting ready to play B-Ball
Then while we were playing some ball the volcano erupted AGAIN!

Volcano erupts whie I dunk!
Only in Alaska could we be playing basketball in the snow while wearing shorts with a volcano erupting in the background.
Good times in the great AK!!
Oh yeah and go read James 1 in your bible or here. It’s an amazing word for this week!
Update
Thanks to those who were concerned about Riley. Good news he’s gonna live!! Ok that’s a little over the top… He had a nasty flu bug and the doctor said he hadn’t seen it act that way before. Bottom line, Riley is fine!
Just had to share this. Many of you know about my love for all things taco bell. I found this story and I have to say as much as I love Taco Bell this might be to far.
NORMAL, Illinois – Wedding bells meant the Mexican fast food chain Taco Bell for Paul and Caragh Brooks.
Customers inside the fast-food restaurant continued to order tacos and burritos as the couple sat Friday in an orange Taco Bell booth and exchanged vows.
“It’s appropriate,” groom Paul Brooks said. “It’s an offbeat relationship.”
You can read the rest of the story on MSNBC.
