2 Great Stories

Today has been a great day. I got the awesome privlage to speak the Christmas message at our church this morning. Of course I may be a little bysis, however I would say it went really well. On to the point…

I heard two great stories today that are worth sharing. The first come from my pastor. He is out of town ministering to one of our families in our church and found himself attending a Catholic Mass. You can read it from his blog HERE. It’s worth the click!!!

The Second came from one of the ladies in our church this evening . She began to tell me about a new lady that had just recently begun attending our church in the last few weeks. This lady whom I don’t think I even caught her name, had a great need. See she has a little girl and no money for any Christmas gifts or any thing special on Christmas day.  This got our regular attender to thinking, and she wanted to help! As she started collecting gifts to give the little girl she thought to her self, I wonder if the lady will have any thing? So following her hart she also began to collect gifts to give the mother as well. As I was listening to this story I wish I would have taken a picture of this ladies face she was so excited about the out come of her generosity. She told me that when she delivered the packages to the mother she was so grateful. The mom said how much this was going to mean to her daughter. Then our regular attender gave her the last big basket and again the mom told her how thankful the daughter would be. However the last gift was for the mom. When the mom realized what was going on she broke into tears. They cried together and had a great moment that could only be brought on by an act of kindness.

That story makes me so proud of the Soldotna Church of God and the people who attend here. Clearly they got the meaning of Christmas… for that matter they get the meaning being a follower of Jesus!  I hope in some way or another this Christmas season we would all take a que from this story and reach out and love some one in need. It’s so important that we take the time to love.

I’m sure there other stories like this one and if you have one I would love to hear it. Just click on the comments button and leave a comment or email me here.

Have a great Christmas!!!
